Ladies and gentlemen, I would like it to be noted that, whatever the outcome of the next couple of hours may be, Andy Murray is currently beating Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals of the U.S. Open!  I can't believe it...and I can't believe that I can't access any sports channel, on TV or online, that will show me this match!  Murray thrashed Nadal in the first set, judging by the 6-2 scoreline, and managed to squeak out what may turn out to be a crucial tie-breaker in the second...oh come on, Andy!  If he did make it to the final, we would at last be seeing that dilemma match that I've been hypothesising about for the last few years: in a contest between Murray and Federer—for a slam, no less!—who would I support?  Sorry, Andy, but I'm sticking with Roger =)

Elrond is being a little...odd.  I hope he hasn't contracted a virus, because that would be a real pain.  He just doesn't like it when I try to change between windows, and actually trying to get a page to load—you'd think I was martyring him. 
It's raining again, but since I love it when the rain beats so hard on the skylights, I'm good with it.  For the time being.  Not that rain will matter tomorrow, at least, not once the postman comes.  Don't want our Deathly Hallows...es getting soggy, but once they arrive I'm not going to be moving for at least six hours. 

David was telling us all sorts of stories yesterday, about leaked copies and reviews and angry, suing lawyers.  Myself, I can't see it.  We go through this whole malarkey every time a Harry Potter is published and it is beginning to pall.  (On the other hand, of course, it's rather cool that for once all this ridiculous fuss is being made, not over a celebrity or a film or an album, but over a book.)
Anyway, it doesn't take away from the fact that in eighteen hours or so I will be reading the last book...still a little conflicted about whether I want it to be over or not.  I wonder how the internet communities will survive; a lot of Lord of the Rings ones died the death after the excitement of the films faded.

I always intended to post a list of predictions, so that I would have a record and be able to see just how wrong I was, but I never really got round to it, so this is me rambling about what I think and/or hope will happen.  Anyone's guess is as good as mine, but in case people are very picky about spoilers and predictions, I'll use a cut =)

So, several months, two free screencapping programmes and a lot of modifications, I've finally finished (I think) this series of Dead Man's Chest icons.  I'm not too pleased with some of them but they've been sitting around for so long that I just wanted to post them and be done with it =)

I'm in the middle of making a set of DMC icons, but there are a couple of images I need to finish it: if anyone has seen any good quality caps of Elizabeth and/or Will when hey are in the little boat after Elizabeth kisses Jack, or of the reunion between Will&Elizabeth on the Isla Cruces, I'd really appreciate links =) Actually, any good pictures of the pair of them would be good, but those in particular. Thanks :)

Saturday night (ten days ago; it took me this long to post!) saw me once again heading off to see DMC, this time with a couple of siblings in tow. He had seen it once before, but she had not. Any previous (or future) remarks to the contrary, I do love this film. It's just that I have this need to have everything neat and sorted out and making sense, and I feel the urge to talk about things that are not so until someone fixes them. It's a blessing. And a curse. *grin*

I've finally got my set done (on time, I think) and I hope someone likes some of the icons :) It's good to be reminded just why Elves are so wonderful.
